Rafano & Wood, P.C., was founded by Robert C. Rafano in 1967 in South River, New Jersey. The original location of the office was 6 Jackson Street above the then office of Pulawski Savings and Loan, now Provident Bank.

In 1970 Christopher R. Wood joined Robert C. Rafano at the Jackson Street location. In 1971 Mr. Rafano moved the practice to its present location at 129 Main Street in South River.

Chris and Bob met as assistant Court Prosecutors at the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office in 1967, then run by Prosecutor Edward T. Dolan from Carteret, New Jersey.

Both Chris and Bob were actively trying criminal and civil cases in the county seat at New Brunswick, New Jersey.

At that time, Rafano & Wood, P.C., practiced in several areas of the law, including personal injury, workers' compensation, real estate, family law, wills and estate planning and other litigation. These areas of the law continue to be the primary areas in which Rafano & Wood practice.

In 1985 Christopher D. Rafano, Bob's son, joined the firm after graduating from Villanova University and Dickinson Law School. He immediately began practicing in the same areas of law as well as trying civil cases.

In 2001 Peter Nastasi became associated with Rafano & Wood, P.C. He also practices in the same areas of the law.

Rafano and Wood, P.C., has built its reputation by providing excellent legal representation to its clients. Many of our clients have been with the firm in excess of thirty-five years. Although Rafano & Wood, P.C. does some advertising, statistically the vast majority of our clients come from referrals from satisfied clients.
